Eat With Us Bulletproof Hot Chocolate Recipe written by eatmeetngreet Hi Eaters, it’s no secret that my wife and I love Bulletproof Coffee and Hot Chocolate. It all began when I came across Dave Asprey’s book, “The Bulletproof Diet” about three years ago and a line of products that I found interesting, which I thought at the time could possibly benefit mine and my family’s health. We always tell everyone though; do your own research and see what works best for you. This is what has worked best for us. According to Dave, his “Bulletproof Coffee”, a coffee beverage made from low-mold coffee beans, grass fed unsalted butter, and either coconut oil or medium chain triglycerides has contributed to a healthy diet, weight loss and great energy. We tested it out for about a month and we found many benefits within the “bulletproof system.” Benefits of the Brain Octane Oil are: (information directly from his website) https://www.bulletproof.com/brain-octane-oil-16-oz it’s a reliable and quick source of energy from fat not sugar helps your body burn fat quality fats that don’t weigh you down it’s distilled from 100% pure coconut oil We have been drinking Bulletproof Coffee, Hot Chocolate, and Fat Water, for the past three years. My wife is sitting right next to me, smiling. The thought of mentioning anything Bulletproof puts a smile on my wife’s face:) Considering we don’t want to do too much coffee, cacao was a better option for us. http://amzn.to/2ExGnMTWe used to make this pretty easily. A few products and that was it. But my wife has had some personal health issues that she is working through and we have since added some more products, with even bigger benefits. Raw Cacao has been an anti-oxidant miracle. One doctor whom are health values are aligned with is Dr. Mercola. We have been engaged with him for years and on his website he broke down all of the benefits of this raw gem: Raw cacao powder contains more than 300 different chemical compounds and nearly four times the antioxidant power of your average dark chocolate – more than 20 times than that of blueberries. Protein, calcium, carotene, thiamin, riboflavin, magnesium, sulfur, flavonoids, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids are also present. The precise blend of all these elements combined serve to kick in naturally occurring phytochemicals that have incredible benefits throughout the body, such as lowered LDL cholesterol, improved heart function, and reduced cancer risk.-Dr.Mercola We store our raw cacao in a Mason Jar to keep it properly sealed and for convenience. We only use raw cacao to benefit from all of it’s nutrients. This Maca Powder is considered a Superfood. The many benefits are blood flow, balance of hormones, strengthens immunity, energy, mood, & sexual health. This substantial root is known to have been birthed in Peru and it’s considered their country’s ginseng. My wife noticed immediate benefits right away since adding this powder over the past four months to her bulletproof. She has more energy, and she feels as though her iron has improved, in which her doctor has agreed. We are dairy free, but before we went dairy free we were using Ghee and still are. It has been to our benefit. My wife again loves it and she has attributed her morning routine to include this. Ghee is made through a simple process of boiling butter and then pouring off the butterfat, leaving behind the proteins (casein and whey) and the milk solids (which includes lactose). I use Kerrigold Butter. Kerrigold is not 100% Non-GMO. It’s 90%. Additional benefits of Ghee are: it has a high smoke point, has fat-soluble vitamins, free of lactose and casein, ha conjugated linoleic acid, (which is a HUGE benefit to us) it’s loaded with butyrate, it helps with the strength of your bones which helps with osteoarthritis health and it helps with weight loss. I make this every two weeks for my wife and I have a special temperature process that I maintain for the maximum benefit of Ghee. My wife recently started adding this Ginger Powder to her Bulletproof. We do use fresh ginger a lot, but this is quick and she said that the powder is really “gingery.” Ginger helps her the most with inflammation and that’s the reason why she has added this for the past several months. Stevia…our alternative to sugar. My wife doesn’t use sugar very often or even stevia at times. But if she wants to add the minimum of sweetness, she will add a couple of drops. My wife keeps these small jars in our tea station. She refills these with Cacao and Maca Powder and has them handy everyday. My wife is known for her Tea Mugs! Everyone that comes to our house, goes home with one as a gift; not kidding! She got this one at Peet’s Coffee, of course for her hometown and her Los Angeles one, I’m sure you have seen on our social media platforms many times. Here is our recipe: 8 oz. of Reverse Osmosis Water freshly hot and boiled 1 tsp. Brain Octane Oil 4 tsp. of Raw Cacao Powder 2 tsp. of Maca Powder 1/2 tsp. of Ghee (my wife usually adds 1 tsp.) 1/2 tsp. of Ginger Powder Optional: A couple drops of Stevia Of course you can customize how much and how little you want of each product. We have found that these variations have worked well for us. We asked you on Social Media if you wanted the recipe and you said YES! Enjoy! Have a great and healthy day. Can you please give me the recipe for ghee? I didn’t realize to include that if I start to make Bulletproof Coffee. Won’t do the chocolate, but coffee instead.
