Hi Eaters,
We wanted to share with with you a few hotspots of our favorite restaurants in town. We get asked a lot about our local hotspots, from breakfast, lunch and desserts, and thought we would share our local favorites in the San Fernando Valley of California.
1.) Joan’s On Third
Joan’s on Third is a culinary emporium, rustic marketplace and social hit up spot, where many folks gather to eat their favorite meal or look for favorite hard to find products. Whether it is to try there delectable Mac n Cheese (not wheat or gluten free), delicious Tuna Melt, or Flourless Chocolate Cake, you are in for a magical day. Made with the best quality ingredients, this market is an iconic staple in Los Angeles and now Studio City.
2. Leo n Lily
Leo n Lily, known for there local farm to table menu items, is a local neighborhood restaurant in our neck of the woods. We have celebrated so many milestones here, from anniversaries, wedding showers, birthdays and work achievements. They have the best Chocolate Chip Gluten-Free Pancakes & Non-Dairy Iced Mocha Latte. The latte is too die for actually. On a quaint side street, just offset Ventura Boulevard, this local eatery is a stand out spot. I must say, I go there for some quiet time and for the delicious mint tea, which is actually one of my all time favorites. Whether you are a local, a tourist or having folks stay with you from out of town, Leo n Lily’s needs to be on your list.
3.) Cava
Cava is known for their many lines of Hummus, but have since turned the brand into a local restaurant. It is one of our favorites in the Westfield Village of Woodland Hills. We are addicted to the Arugula Salad which lends itself to our meal of choice. The spicy Harissa, a North African traditional spice, is blended beautifully into their array of choices. It is a hummus of sorts if you will and it is spicy. If you are looking for a convenient, inexpensive meal with great local ingredients that won’t break the bank, then this is the spot for you!

4.) Les Sisters
Les Sisters is an iconic eatery located in Chatsworth, CA. It started with three beautiful women who opened in 1986, bringing their New Orleans style cuisine to an industrial town, in the valley of Los Angeles, CA. We have so many favorite dishes. The crawfish is too die for, the grilled shrimp with BBQ sauce is unlike anything you have tasted, the black eyed peas are top rated and the yams & collard greens, well there in a class by itself. We have taken our family here when visiting out of town and they loved it. Susan, the now owner & our friend, passed away earlier this year. So many of Susan’s traditions at the restaurant are still in place, as she would give everyone her special touch. Whether it was a hug, holding hands or sitting with you, it was more than just food. It’s a family. One of the many reasons why this is at the top of our list.
