I think that before we were “wheat free” my skin was glowy, radiant and was going in an upward spiral. But once we cut out the wheat, added more hydration and later switched to Vegetarian/Vegan Lifestyle, my skin went through A LOT of changes. My skin went from radiant to not so much, back to radiant. A lot of this was based off of our diet and exercise.
Going wheat free almost 6 years ago, not only changed our lives, but we lost over 125 pounds collectively, and changes in my skin started to happen. Everything that was underneath my skin, started to come up and all of the dryness started to shed. It was such a challenge because all of the skin issues were definitely hidden somewhere, but started to change rapidly especially two months into being wheat free. I’m grateful that even though I have severe bouts of eczema, my skin is SOOO much better with our health changes.
The 3 things that helped improve my skin & eczema:
- Switching our diet
- Hydration-water, water, water
- Transitioning to vegetarian
We always like to be transparent and eczema is something that I’ve struggled with. It can hurt, be painful, wanting to rip off the dry patches, so making these changes was not only by choice, but I needed to do this to cleanse from the inside out.
It is always a journey, but so grateful that we are on the right path.
